I am a Reading Language Therapist, with 30 years of
tutoring experience one-on-one in Reading, Reading Comprehension, Writing,
Spelling, Language, and Penmanship.
I have taught all ages (Kiddie Academy Preschool, K-4
& K-5, Grades 1-12th since 2016 in Las Vegas, NV, and Adults in
Basic Skills and Special Needs in Compensatory Education in an Educational
setting age 18-85 at a Community College in NC for 20 years), Homeschoolers,
English as Second Language, Gifted children.
Not only having taught all ages, but I have also taught students with
learning disabilities (ADHD, ADD, Dyslexia, and Autism).
I have been
trained in the Orton-Gillingham Method Basic and Advanced Levels.
{Example: Multi-sensory Approach Reading Techniques for proficiency in
remedial lessons, Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Syllabication Patterns for
encoding/decoding skills, Penmanship Manuscript and Cursive Writing, Latin
& Greek roots}.
I also teach art, sketching, watercolor, and painting to
develop the right brain hemisphere which strengthens creative talent and
imagination development, perception, spatial awareness, Alpha-state stress
relief, healing and productive thinking skills.
Education: Graduate Degree; Baptist Bible College and
Graduate School.

Doris helped my 9 year

Doris has been tutoring
my daughter in reading/writing since Spring 2020. My daughter has really
blossomed in the time she has spent with Doris. Doris picked up on my daughters

Doris is a great tutor!
Made my son feel very comfortable. She's the reason that my son has improved so
much with his reading comprehension and AR reading tons of books. He went from

We have hired a number
of tutors for our 2 children. Doris by far was the best! We saw big gains in

We have worked with Ms
Doris for few months now but knew her through my youngest daughter's preschool.
She worked with her a couple years and my daughter loves her. When we graduated
from preschool we kept in touch and Ms Doris now helps my second grade daughter.
She is friendly, fun and very talented! My girls get so excited the night

Best decision we ever
made! If your child can't read, understand school work easily, and/or is very
shy she can help them. We have been working with Doris for 1 year now and it's
made a world of difference. A year ago my daughter (who attends a charter school)
couldn't read and was behind in school. Now, she can read and write well-even
in cursive. She's more confident and has excelled to the point of receiving
multiple school awards. She is worth every penny! I have even started her
working with my other 2 daughters (one age 9 to help with writing and reading
comprehension and the other age 4 to kick start her into learning letters and
sounds). I fully recommend using Doris for whatever educational goals you hope

I have known Doris for
many years, and can attest to her excellent, effective and results-driven work
as a tutor for children in the Henderson/Las Vegas area. She excels at helping

Doris has been working
with my 4 1/2 year old son for a few months now. Just helping him get
familiarized with his numbers, letters etc. she has been wonderful! She
definitely knows how to switch to new fun material when he loses his focus. I
would recommend her if your kids need a little extra help with school or
prepping for school.

Doris is an amazing
tutor and I don't think you can find anyone better. She specializes in teaching
kids with educational issues or just a regular kid who is behind. My daughter
grades went up immediately just after few sessions with Doris. Most importantly
she uses an unique style of teaching and materials which are design by
different states nothing like what we have in NV, which will all know we are on
the bottoms list. Bottom line my daughter wanted to adopt Doris forever! Hire
Doris and you will not be disappointed. She is like a family and only reason we
are not using Doris anymore as we are moving out of the counties! Doris thank

Doris is patient and

Doris is by far one of
the best tutors we have ever been blessed with over the time we've utilized
tutors. She has an amazing way with children in that she can understand their
needs and speak to them on a level in which they can truly understand and internalize
going forward. She also would advise my child on every day things as well--as
